Under The Sun

A good book. Anyone who doesn't understand why I sometimes call myself a libertarian should read Against The Dead Hand, by Brink Lindsey.

My favorite statistic: In India, as of a few years ago, an estimated 91 percent of the active labor force was employed illegally, under the table. That is not a typo: 91 percent. Mass production is virtually unknown in India; such items as cars and personal computers are manufactured mostly by hand in small, black-market operations. Why? Read the book.
