Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews is a free email service that commissions and distributes reviews of new books in academic philosophy. I've been a subscriber for nearly a year now, and though some of the books/reviews don't interest me much--I only skim anything about formal logic, for instance--many of them are quite worthwhile. The reviews are commissioned from scholars all over the world (the reviews are all in English, but not all of the reviewers are Anglospheric), so there's a vast diversity of perspective; furthermore, and rather to my surprise, several of the contributors have been scholars of significant eminence, including Richard Rorty, Brian Leiter, and Fred Dallmayr. In short, it's an excellent service. It's thought-provoking often enough to merit its own category of blog-posts: NDPR.
